ASCM®, the Association for Supply Chain Management (formerly APICS®), is the global leader and premier source of leading-edge knowledge in operations and supply chain management. ASCM® has developed a comprehensive educational program designed for operations and supply chain professionals, and the northeastern PA campuses of Penn State University are collaborating to offer these prep programs to prepare individuals to take the certification exams.
Certified Production and Inventory Management Prep Course
The APICS® CPIM® is the global standard education credential program of the Association of Supply Chain Management, ASCM.
Every ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system uses business rules originating from CPIM's® body of knowledge. Earning an APICS® CPIM® certification shows employers that as a professional you know how to effectively manage risks and disruptions, as well as leverage technology that uses data and streamline processes.
CPIM® 9.0 Prep Overview
CPIM® 9.0 covers nine domains of operations management, including supply chains, demand, and continuous improvement. The course includes structured learning, practical insights, and real-world examples to help candidates understand the materials.

Online Certification Prep Course
APICS UPDATED CPIM 9.0 prep course is one 48-hour, instructor-led online program (12 weeks). To earn a CPIM designation, the student must pass one exam covering 9 modules of content (exam is not included in registration fee).
This online program, taught by Penn State approved and APICS® certified instructors, is being offered in collaboration with other campuses of Penn State thru online video, classes are originated at Penn State Scranton.
- Dates: September 10, 2026 - December 12, 2026 (No class 11/26 & 11/28)
- Days & Times: Thursdays, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. (EST)
- Delivery: Online Instructor-led training via Zoom
- Registration Deadline: September 7, 2026 to receive hardcopy materials in time. Digital downloads will be available.
- Cost: $2,750 for APICS Members, $2,950 for non-members. Fees include: APICS® CPIM® Learning System Workbook, Student Slide book and access to online study.

Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP®) Prep Course
The APICS CSCP credential is ideal for current or aspiring supply chain professionals seeking to advance their careers. This credential empowers professionals with a comprehensive understanding of operations, global supply chain networks, customer and supplier relationships and supply chain risk and resilience.
Key topics covered: Supply Chains, Demand Management and Forecasting; Global Supply Chain Networks; Sourcing Products and Services; Internal Operations and Inventory: Forward and Reverse Logistics; Supply Chain Relationships; Supply Chain Risk; and Optimization, Sustainability and Technology .
CSCP® Prep Program Overview
APICS CSCP prep course is one 39-hour, instructor-led online program (13 weeks). To earn a CSCP designation, the student must pass one exam (exam is not included in registration fee).
