Serving Transgender Communities in Health Care (HDFS 5064)
This one-day workshop will lead participants to a thorough understanding of the transgender community, and how to build trust with your transgender patients. Participants will hear best practice terminology and inclusive language, describe risk and protective factors, learn about the increased risks of domestic violence and community intervention resources, recognize cisheterosexism, and identify steps to make your organization and its practices more welcoming and inclusive.
This course is intended for nurses, and others in health-related fields including social workers, home health care, nursing homes, assisted living and personal care homes, and those with direct care support.
