Phlebotomy Technician
The mission of the Phlebotomy Technician program is to prepare students to function as an active part of the laboratory team.
This comprehensive 90-hour program prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients through venipuncture and capillary sampling for laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with all aspects of blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely.
This certificate program also prepares students to sit for the exam to become nationally certified.
Students will complete classroom learning and hands-on practice in a clinical lab setting. Students will be guided in the technique of venipuncture and capillary blood collection. In addition, there will be classroom discussion related to the collection of other body fluids for sampling.
