The new SHRM certification recognizes that HR professionals are at the core of leading organizational success. It ensures that the HR professional possesses the relevant HR knowledge required for today's workplace.

SHRM conducted an intensive research study to define, in addition to competencies, the body of applied skills and knowledge that is relevant to today's global HR professional. HR knowledge has been grouped by common themes into four knowledge domains.

1. Organization: Structure of the HR Function; Organizational Effectiveness & Development; Workforce management; Employee Relations; and Technology & Data

1. Workplace: HR in the Global Context; Diversity & Inclusion; Risk Management; Corporate Social Responsibility; and Employment Law & Regulations (U.S. only)

1. Strategy: Business & HR Strategy

In-person Instruction:

• Dates: January 31- May 2, 2026
• Time: Saturdays, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
• Cost:$1600 ($100 discount for Early Bird Registration)
• Location: Penn State Lehigh Valley, 2809 Saucon Valley Rd. Center Valley, PA

Virtual Instruction:

Option 1:

• Date: February 3 - April 21, 2026
• Time: Tuesdays, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
• Delivery: Online instructor-led training via Zoom
• Registration Deadline: January 30, 2026 **Register early to receive your materials in time for class**

Option 2:

• Dates: February 19 - May 21, 2026
• Times: Thursdays, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
• Delivery: Live Instruction via Zoom Classroom
• Cost: $1,500 for National SHRM Members, or
  $1,600 for non-member
